Since Florence has become one of my favorite places. What better place than here to welcome 2012?To start the day right, celebrations began early in the day with music in Florence and admiring the incredibly talented street artists, creating masterpieces using chalk, shown in the above image.
After wandering through Florence taking in most of the beautiful sights, lunch was served at one of my favorite trattorias in Florence, Vecchio Mercato, perfect location and delectable dishes. This place is delish. A good amount of time was spent here sharing stories and eating well beyond my food intake. Shortly after, the night was topped off with another delicious dinner at a family owned restaurant in Pisa. Everyone was so welcoming, the music was great, and fireworks were seen over the Ponte di Mezzo. In all, it was the perfect way to welcome 2012.
